Lanham, MD – The Global Who’s Who proudly recognizes Dr. George Hajjar, Jr., MD, for his decades of dedicated service in internal medicine and his lasting impact on the community. A respected physician in private practice, Dr. Hajjar has provided comprehensive care to adult patients ages 18 and older, with a focus on preventive medicine and the management of chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and other common medical concerns. Board Certified in Internal Medicine, he has recently transitioned into a part-time, semi-retired role over the past year and a half, continuing to care for patients while remaining actively engaged in the profession he deeply enjoys. His ongoing commitment reflects both his passion for medicine and his devotion to those he serves. Dr. Hajjar earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Hahnemann Medical College, formerly known as the Medical College of Pennsylvania, graduating with distinction as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he developed the strong clinical foundation that would guide his long and successful career. Following residency, Dr. Hajjar served as an Instructor for medical students and residents at Baylor College of Medicine until 1990, when he entered private practice in Maryland. Throughout his professional journey, Dr. Hajjar remained actively involved in the medical community. He served on the medical staff at Doctors Community Hospital for 30 years and at Prince George’s Community Hospital for approximately 20 years. In 2008, he was designated a Certificated Medical Review Officer. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hajjar has demonstrated a special dedication to serving disabled patients and supporting vocational rehabilitation initiatives. His efforts have been recognized with awards from organizations including the Southern Maryland Vocational Institute, honoring his commitment to patient advocacy and community service. Dr. Hajjar’s legacy is defined not only by his longevity in practice, but by his compassionate care, professional integrity, and steadfast dedication to improving the health and well-being of his patients across generations.
